Baltimore natives DOPE BODY will return to Leeds to bring their party-time sludge-punk riffs to the Brudenell Social Club aided by local legends and all-round posi-puppies Cowtown along with newly established bass heavy noise-rock cyborg-lumberjacks Irk. Dope Body have just come off the back of releasing their 3rd album 'Lifer' (their 2nd for prolific label Drag City), following 2012's life-affirming and sonically sublime 'Natural History'. With 'Lifer' Dope Body have progressed and given birth to an animal that manages to be even more raw and unpredictable than it's predecessor. Dope Body formed in 2008 from the dance-friendly confines of Baltimore's DIY scene. Evolving from blasting three-piece to blistering four-piece, they enjoy writing, touring endlessly, having fun and pummeling basement parties with a gleeful, wide-eyed fanaticism that the more reasonable among us might mistake for insanity (it ain’t entirely so).
Dope Body writhe under their own influences and experiments, swinging from gutterish sludge-punk to snake charmer-on-fire within the confines of a single tune. Rather than compare their ferocity to another contender, just know that Dope Body is punk spelled other-wards and standing on its hands.
