14 Iced Bears

+ Wandering Summer & Small Gauge

14 Iced Bears

14 Iced Bears are a British indie pop band associated with the C86 music scene. Formed in Brighton in 1985, by Robert Sekula and Nick Emery the band featured a shifting line-up of musicians across their seven-year existence, centred on songwriter and vocalist Rob Sekula and guitarist/songwriter Kevin Canham. Their jangly indie pop was characterised by a fuzzy protopunk-influenced guitar sound, and saw them receive modest critical acclaim in Britain's music press as well as prompting DJ John Peel to recruit them to record a couple of sessions for his programme on BBC radio. The group released a handful of singles, including "Come Get Me" on the influential Sarah Records label

Freshly reformed after being given a glowing six-page article in psyche oracle Shindig Magazine, the 14 Iced Bears have just played Paris and Sheffield, their first gigs in over ten years, to packed crowds and now travel to Leeds as part of a three-date tour along with Glasgow and Durham. The line-up is the original one from their second lp Wonder.

Wandering Summer

Wandering Summer are a noisepop indiepunk band from LS6 in Leeds. Hailing from the underbelly of the tag stained, take away rich streets of fun central in Leeds, UK. Wandering Summer fit somewhere between the scrawled urban terraces and their far out sunny green dreams.
With a sound characterised by scratched fuzz, zealous reverb, indolence, Wandering Summer produce a sound that resonates with buzzing and hissing ear drums. Influenced by the indie pop scenes of the USA and the Bay Area alt-pop movement, the band draws inspiration from revered talents like Sonic Youth, Flying Nun Records, Slumberland Records, Glaswegian indiepop and a myriad of feedback-drenched noise pop bands from previous decades.
