Brudenell presents...
Cabbage
+ Slow Knife + Ventrelles
Good afternoon fans of Cabbage.
Reflecting back on the period of the last 6 years will be life affirming, terrifying, awe inspiring but most importantly fulfilling. It’s with these ghastly adjectives that we begin to tell you that Cabbage as a group, an institute and as a rag-tag caravan of cheek and roguery shall be no more.
Carrying this burdening message only lifts the weight from our shoulders as we dive into an endless list of fresh musical projects and the day to day running of our glorious recording hub, Brassica studios.
Although we will be parting ways we have a bucket list of shows, records and documented hedonism to release. The upcoming tour is going to be our last and therefore we will be playing much longer than any previous performance (ticket link in bio).
Over the years we have left a number of songs to the wayside and some that have only just seen the light of day. We will be collecting and recording these songs to form a b-sides collection, one final cathartic production and certainly not a rent payer.
Finally and certainly not least, we want to thank every person that has helped us, purchased our shit, turned up to shows or given us a cig outside a venue. To all the groups we made friends with and to all the people we have worked with particularly our management, labels, booking agents and promoters. You all did a grand job in selling 3 scruffs from Mossley (+ 1 dinner lady and 1 grumpy Burnage drummer) to the nation and giving us a platform to produce our art.
We hope to see you at the shows and burn this fucking bonfire to the ground. We'll either be on stage, at the merch desk or outside asking to pinch a cig. Appreciation doesn't begin to describe the gratitude we have.
Love Cabij x

Fighting fear of silence with two statement singles in the form of the Coronation Street-inspired, YOU’VE MADE AN ARTFORM (FROM FALLING TO PIECES) and the multicoloured, Shaun Ryder-indebted splash of GET OUTTA MY BRAIN, the re-energised five-piece strike out with a fresh sense of optimism on Amanita Pantherina, out on Fri 25 September 2020, promising 11-tracks of crackling, amped-up, socially-conscious and literary punk-pop.
Older and wiser, yet unchanged in their mission, Cabbage – made up of LeeBroadbent (vocals), Joe Martin (vocals/guitar), Eoghan Clifford (guitar), Paddy Neville (bass)and Asa Morley (drums) – present Amanita Pantherina as the first album entirely self-produced and recorded in their own Brassica Studios, Mossley. Long-term, technical collaborator, Chris Stockton was on hand for the album sessions to ensure the buttons got pressed.
Having deftly documented the turbulent times of modern Britain since 2017, machine-gunning wry takes on the banal, absurd and cruel – from the Brexit non-anthem of Raus! to the prescient, pharmaceutically-orientated, Medicine - the band aims to remain a vital voice of the times in which we live.
Since forming in late-2015, Cabbage have occupied provocative territory by promoting progressive politics and supporting charitable causes through their live shows, leading them to be featured the BBC Radio Four documentary ‘The Art of Now: Band Politics’. At the same time as headlining sell-out UK tours, the band played Edgeley Park with Blossoms in 2019 and launched their debut album with a one-off, specially-curated exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery.
