Cloth Cat Presents...
Hair Of The Dog 2025
Hair Of The Dog 2025 returns on Saturday 4th January with a full line up of live bands from Leeds and the surrounding area to entertain you, playing high energy and upbeat music to keep your mood up and party into the new year.
This is, of course, Cloth Cat’s annual fundraiser and every penny will go directly into continuing the projects we already run and where we feel help is needed most to support the vulnerable people we work with throughout the year using the power of music.
On the bill are:
Brand New Bag
the city's funkiest faces. BNB formed in 2023 for an on-going residency at Leeds' hottest late night spot for all things jazz, funk & soul, The Domino Club. Born from a collective of musicians and rappers that coalesced around the Funk'd Up Jazz-Hop live jam sessions that popped up around the city since 2015, BNB bring funky and soulful dancefloor flavours to jazz clubs, warehouse raves & festivals, and parties of all kinds, all pumped with a beating heart of UK Hip-Hop.
Melding flavours from jazz-funk, funky & neo soul, disco and all things groove with the attitude of conscious hip-hop, BNB bring the party at any occasion. Already headlining Unity Day 2023 & taking bookings at some of the finest funk events and festivals including Beat-Herder Festival 2024 and regularly taking the roof off The Domino late night shows, BNB have been described as "Fabulously Funky", "The ultimate party dance band" and “funky hip-hop heroes”.
A truly professional act, Brand New Bag are equally able to get on the good foot and get those tailfeathers shakin’ in the cool sophistication of the finest jazz clubs, or to bring the party at some of the U.K’s biggest dance music events, festivals, or any other place to party. Brand New Bag are the perfect polished high energy act for any dancefloor.

Skiprat
Skiprat are a Punk/Reggae/Ska band from the North of England. By mixing a fine blend of Ska, Dub Reggae and old school Punk Skiprat offers a unique blend of original content to satisfy a wide range of audiences.
“a punk reggae ska band from Wakefield who played some very danceable music with just the right balance of each of their genres” Louder Than War
“The band hails from Wakefield, West Yorkshire and has been a staple on the summer circuit for 15 years or more. Their experience shows as they flow their way through a set that is slick, joyful and over way too soon.” Equinox Festival 2022

Drop Leg Steppers
Meet Drop Leg Steppers, your Yorkshire Reggae/Ska/Dub band, blending beats, rhythms, and soul-stirring melodies. Their line up has evolved and grown over their 10 years, and their sound is designed to make you move – hips swaying, feet tapping, and heart pulsing to the rhythm of their performance, bringing joy, energy, and the best of vibes to every soul in the audience.
Their musical palette is as diverse as our members, drawing inspiration from a spectrum of genres that span the decades. From the roots of Reggae and Dub, tracing back to the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, to the modern rhythms of today’s Dub Reggae. But their influences don’t stop there, being also deeply inspired by Soul, R&B, Indie Rock, Post-Punk, Dance music, and Hip Hop.
Drop Leg Steppers aim to spread positivity, unity, and the irresistible urge to dance which certainly resonates with us at Cloth Cat and they continue to spread their message and music at festivals and venues across the north of England.

Hinata
We're so pleased to have Hinata on the bill for this year’s Hair Of The Dog. Having caught them at 2023's Hyde Park Unity Day, we subsequently booked them as headliners for our open mic at The Pack Horse and then 2024’s Northern Green Gathering. They probably get labelled mostly as dream pop with the obvious comparisons to My Bloody Valentine, Lush and The Cocteau Twins, but this is no ordinary shoegaze band, as they add shades of Siouxie, The Jesus & Mary Chain as well as other goth influences. With creativity at their heart, they’re something pretty unique and need to be seen and heard. An incredibly prolific band, there’s loads of material on their Bandcamp page so give them a listen:

Gertie
it's great to have Gertie playing. As an all queer band they'll be playing originals, singing about the issues that come with being a young queer person, along with some classic 00s pop bangers! Gertie will be back playing the headline slot. Backed by a full band, Gertie's music is a combination of art pop and indie pop.

And ‘Hair Of The Dog’ wouldn’t be the same without your compere, A Short Dark Stranger with his unbridled energy and fun to the proceedings: https://www.facebook.com/ashortdarkstranger
Doors open at 6.00pm until 11.45pm
£7.50 plus booking fee in advance or £10 on the door
